This picture is form the first camp on the inca trail. A clear night and the high altitude with a lack light from any nearby city made it a very dark night. Perfect for astro photography.
The milky way was clearly visible. Being south of the equator i had a hard time finding any known constellations. I did manage to find the southern cross tough. Lacking any specific astrophotography gear i decided to do a panorama instead. I would have loved to spend all night taking pictures but a very hard day of trekking had be done the next day. We would be going over dead womans pass (4200 m). I assured my mother it was probably just a name.
