Kungsleden northern sweden. 2011
The kings trail offers many beautiful sites along the way. The weather in summer, is perfect for hiking at around 15 degrees. However the weather can be upredicteble in the mountains, and even though the trail is very well marked, hikers have disappeared here before.

Lofoten Norway 2011
Lofoten is known as one of the most beautiful places in Norway.
However this is the only image i have from this place since the weather was photogenically impossible to deal with. It wasn’t raining or cloudy in the moody way that lends itself well to dramatic images. I was a dull milkey white, featureless sky, with no contrast. In the right light this place would be absolutely amazing. After driving the hole day hoping for better weather we finally found a camping site. And then the weather cleared up I grabbed my tripod and took a picture.

Even the glases at the vodka bar are made from ice.
Cuzco, Peru altitude 3300m 2011
Two days after arriving at Cuzco, the headaches were gone and I felt better. So I did a little acclimatization walk. My mother had unfortunately fallen the day before and sprained her ankle. She couldn’t walk. I told her to stay in bed, so her ankle could mend. The inca trail hike was only 3 day away, and we had to pay the last of the deposit the following day. Not knowing if she would be able to walk, spirits were low.

My dear mother resting with a book in the amazon rainforest. 2011
This was one of the absolute highlights of the trip. We had booked a trip with Explorama which had 4-5 field research station in the rainforest. This station was a perfect combination of primitive and luxury. We had almost no electric lights but did have wifi and bathrooms with running water. After a 2 days we had the whole place to ourselves.
After a couple of days here we went to the Ceiba Top camp closer to Iquitos. After living in the jungle. Both me and my mom agreed we should have stayed there. The stuffi...
Altiplano Peru near Colca canyon altitude above 5000m 2011
We were on our way to Colca Canyon and the bus stopped for a few minutes at the highest point.
Having been on the Inca Trail a week before we thought we had acclimatized, but just riding the bus to this elevation I could feel that my heart and breathing rate had gone up. Our guide was getting on my nerves as whenever the bus stopped at a picturesque site no sooner had we left the bus before the guide yelled at us to get back on. I did manage to get a quick panorama of the altiplano before getting on the bus.
